I took a chance to download this book because I was deeply curious about the story. This isn't my genre to read but I ventured in nevertheless.I must say first that I love the writer's style, which is easy to follow. As I was biting my nails about the goriness and actual horror that might present itself, I was disappointed to realize that the author did not put much creepiness and scariness into it. The story really centers around the neighbors rather than the 'horror' itself, and how the people come to deal with the 'horror' next door.
It's a good read and I can't wait to see what the author delivers next.

Not being my typical genre, I was a bit reticent when asked to be an advanced copy reader of Horror Across the Alley by R.C. Rumple. The horror genre is often littered with violence that adds nothing to the story, however I found this book gave me something to think about in addition to the fright and bloodshed I would expect from a supernatural novel. The situation and characters are believable and with the skillful development of sub stories, I found myself growing fond of a few people who I didn’t expect to feel so attached to in the beginning.
This book has all the terror true horror fans would expect, and an engaging story line to keep even a reluctant reader like myself engaged. Horror Across the Alley is a great story that will keep your attention and with a few surprises will keep you guessing, even when you’re sure you know what’s happening.
Really good book! I highly recommend this. When a story causes you to get a little emotional, you know it's a good read.
I dont usually read horror but i really enjoyed this book. Well written, suspenseful. A page turner for sure. Looking forward to more thrills from R.C. Rumple!! Stay busy!!!
Because this is not a genre I would normally read, I was quite surprised at how much I enjoyed reading this book. The author does a great job of developing an exciting storyline with a diverse group of characters. Well written, easy to follow, page-turner. Looking forward to more from this author.
Love the gritty trash like characters in the beginning of book. Part way through and decided to buy all richards works for my collection. Sent request to author to arrange signing books, should have them by by next week.
This is a great read that you don't want to put down once you begin! Horror Across the Alley quickly draws you into a twisted plot filled with surprises. More than just a scary story, this book also expresses the kindness of others when help is needed--even at the ultimate cost. I absolutely loved this one and highly recommend picking this book up...trust me, once you do, have some time set aside for this non-stop thriller.
Richard Rumple is a new friend and I love his sense of humor. I was looking for something new to read different from my usual mysteries. Wow I got something different for sure. First of all I love the characters and their reactions to life. I have never read a horror story and I was amazed. I have to tell you dinner was served late as I had to finish the book. Will continue to read his books as they take you away from reality for a period of time...GREAT READ.
